Starting Strong in 2024

As we start 2024 we can expect more of the same financial struggles we’ve faced in 2023, both personally and professionally.

What can we do about it?

With anything in life, especially the tougher things, we can look at our own situations and prioriise what is important. Is it worth buying a new car or is it worth sorting the emergency fund for some peace of mind.

Last year a lot of businesses cut their marketing budgets. A lot of businesses see marketing budgets as the flexible amount of money that can be cut back in tough times, but without marketing how are you bringing in customers……. and without customers, how will you exist?

What you can do with your marketing budget is prioritise.

Do you really need to pay a video production company to shoot a series of talking head interviews for you to post in Linkedin? Probably not. You can buy a £40 microphone, a £20 tripod, and shoot on your phone.

If you do want to go the professional route then focussing on ‘brand’ is going to be important. If you are going to pay for professional video production then a 1-3 minute video telling your brand story is going to be a solid investment that can be used long term. The professional quality will stand our next to all the ‘do it yourself’ videos on social media and by hosting the brand video on your website, you capture the attention of your audience straight away like a shop window display.

Marketing doesn’t have to be expensive. With good planning we can create brand videos from as little as £750.

Before you plan your marketing, decide what you need help with and what you can do yourself.

You probably want to start asap too, if you want customers in March, start your marketing now, it’s probably too late for January customers.
